How a fibreglass lining solved the problem of a leaking and damaged bund.
THE PROBLEM
The bund which contained formic acid was damaged and leaking due to breakdown of the epoxide coating which had previously been applied.
THE SOLUTION
After discussion with the plant maintenance engineer it was decided to line the bund with fibreglass. the surface was prepared and a fibreglass lining was applied,
creating a “Bund within a Bund”.
THE COMPLETED JOB
As can be seen from the photographs the lining created a “bund within a bund” and any further leakage would be contained protecting the bund from further damage.
